• User-submitted content — social media URLs (TikTok, Instagram) that you paste into the app for restaurant extraction.
• Extracted data — restaurant names, locations, cuisine types, and other details derived from publicly available video captions and metadata.
• Usage data — saved lists, collections, and preferences you create within the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the DinerHunt service.
• To extract restaurant information from social media content you submit.
• To save and organize your restaurant collections.
• To authenticate your account.
• To improve and develop new features.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate DinerHunt:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Meta Platform APIs — to retrieve publicly available metadata (captions, author info) from Instagram content via the oEmbed API.
• TikTok oEmbed API — to retrieve publicly available metadata from TikTok content.
• Google Maps & Places API — to resolve restaurant locations and display maps.
• OpenAI — to extract structured restaurant information from video captions using AI.
• Vercel — hosting and deployment.

We only send publicly available video metadata (captions, hashtags, author names) to these services. We do not send your personal information to third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Data From Instagram and Facebook

DinerHunt accesses publicly available Instagram content metadata through the Meta Platform oEmbed API. We only retrieve post captions, author names, and thumbnail URLs for content that users explicitly submit via URL. We do not access private messages, stories, or any non-public content. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising. Data retrieved from Meta Platform APIs is used solely to extract restaurant information for the submitting user.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase with encryption at rest. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your restaurant cards and saved lists at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Export your saved restaurant data.
• Withdraw consent and delete your account.

9. Children's Privacy

DinerHunt is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
